Stairway to Reading: One of our favorite programs for reading. The entire curriculum is offered for free online along with assessment tools. If used properly, the materials are guaranteed to help children who are struggling with reading . Stairway to Reading, although designed for children who have already had some instruction, can be used with preschoolers with the minor adaptations noted on page one of the Introduction.
National Institute for Health: The NIH curriculum are teacher’s guides to two weeks of lessons on the science behind selected health topics. They combine cutting-edge biomedical discoveries with state-of-the-art instructional practices. Grades K-12.
The Worm Guide: A Vermicomposting Guide for Teachers: This guide explores vermicomposting—the practice of using worms to transform food waste into a nutrient-rich finished product called vermicompost. In a school setting, vermicomposting can set the stage for a variety of fun, interdisciplinary activities. Also includes links to other worm composting websites.
